I was recently asked to do a write up for the people of Eat to Perform. it is a huge honor to have been selected for a project like that, and working on that post has really put a lot of things in perspective for me. The write up will be featured later down the road, but I wanted to touch on some points from that post that really are at the core of my being and the principles of getting a lean body.
Today, it’s about putting forth some effort.
Last week I wrote a post called “Sacrifice vs Sabotage”. It amazes me just how our own thoughts can either make us or break us when it comes to working on our health. I have gone through my own health transformation and body re-composition lately and as of my latest photos circling the interweb, I have received a ton more inquiries for private and group training. That being said, I know a thing or two about how to train and eat for maximal muscle gain, fat loss, or whatever. Before I even registered for my RKC II certification, I mapped out an entire plan of attack, month by month, in order to prepare for some serious new feats. I am saying all this today not to toot my own horn or stick my nose up in the air. I am not a “jagoff” as we like to say here in Pittsburgh ๐ . I am bringing this up today to just make a point. In order to get a result, you have to make a plan and put that plan into action.
Effort = Results.
If you need to lose weight, nutritional aspects need to be dialed in as does your training. I hate to break it to you, but when you refuse to eat smart and train hard, you will not reach the lean body destination. I find nothing more frustrating than overhearing conversations like “I need to lose weight, but I just don’t want to give up my lifestyle.” No one asked you to give up your lifestyle darling! You just need to fine tune HOW you are living ๐
Let me give you a real life scenario. I had a client once who came to me for our first ever body transformation challenge in February. He called me with concerns that he would never reach his weight loss goals. “I’ve tried everything! This is my last hope!”. We met in person, reviewed his eating patterns, and made a fairly aggressive plan of attack to get his body where he wanted in the long run. He did what I said. Ate how I told him to. Trained 4 days a week and guess what? He lost 16 pounds in 3 weeks! 16 pounds. 3 weeks. BOOM! And might I add, as a coach, when you see these sorts of rapid results and what that really does for the emotional side of people, well. . .your heart melts.
Now for a rant.
If you want results, you need to work for them. I put in nearly 4 years of hard work in revamping my health and pursuing dreams against all foreseeable odds to get the body I have and the business I now run. It did NOT come easily. Your personal fitness journey will likely be the same. Steps have to be taken. Decisions need to be made. The good news is if you’re consistent and never give up, you will succeed.
Effort = Results. And here’s my pwn personal, photographic evidence.
