I want to personally congratulate team Pittsburgh for their exceptional work during the pat three weeks as we journeyed through the 21 day sugar detox! I have recorded some truly incredible results, some clients losing in excess of 10 pounds in just 3 short weeks. It goes without saying that by simply adhering to a solid nutritional plan and combining it with some hardstyle kettlebell training, you really can dramatically change your life for the better.
Now, I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade, but what typically happens after these three week challenges is that we tend to fall back into old habits. Now, we all had a great celebration at Burgatory on Monday night, and I don’t want to discredit that. I personally had a blast celebrating the end of our three week challenge with all of you here at Primal Fitness Pittsburgh. My point though is that we should definitely line ourselves up with a solid plan of action to CONTINUE our success long after this detox is over.
So. . .let’s talk about our plan of attack here shall we? For those of you who remember me from my old blog, Primalburgher.com, we are going to stick to the three principles of kicking ass that I personally live by and that you can live by as well.
Principle 1. Eat Smart.
You may have noticed a certain whole foods theme during the 21 day sugar detox. The mastermind behind that book, Diane Sanfilippo, has another book out there called “Practical Paleo” which I commonly refer to as “The Holy Bible of Whole Food Nutrition”. “Practical Paleo” is broken down into an easy to read fashion for everyone to comprehend. Diane is truly gifted with taking difficult subject matters and breaking them down into concepts that anyone would be able to understand. The 30 day meal plans for certain physical conditions and fitness goals are also helpful if you’re interested in disease prevention or enhancing your athletic performance. Finally, the recipes in here are PHENOMENAL! If you love cooking and need some healthy inspiration for your kitchen, then pick up your copy today.
Principle 2. Train Hard
Primal Fitness Pittsburgh has been Pittsburgh’s top rated facility for providing permanent physique transformations through kettlebell and body weight programs. Principle 3. Enjoy Your Life.
Hey, we’re human. We are never going to be 100% on our game 100% of the time. Personally, I enjoy a nice large meal every now and again to celebrate successes and to just have a good time with friends. I will also openly admit that I am a food snob and hitting up the Pittsburgh dining scene has become a hobby of mine (note: in my world, eating is a pastime. It’s my favorite pastime. It is extremely important to remember this fact.). I believe that having a healthy relationship with food means that you eat a solid diet but allow yourself to bend the rules every now and again. I generally tell people to allow themselves 1 meal a week where they just don’t worry about calories, macros, or whatever it is that they are tracking. Food is meant to be enjoyed, not fear! And hey! What’s the point of all this hard work if you can’t have a treat every once in a while?
There you have it folks! Now, let’s keep on this path towards long lasting health! Special shout out goes to everyone of our clients at Primal Fitness Pittsburgh for taking charge of their health and completing our 21 day sugar detox! I am so proud of you all I can barely contain myself! Until next time. . .
Master your instincts!
